Online live computing clubs for children

In addition to our popular face to face computing clubs and workshops we offer live online virtual computing and tech clubs for kids.

Our online sessions are delivered live in small groups by our fab team of expert tech leaders so your child has all the input and interaction they need.

We deliver face to face coding and computing clubs and workshops across all parts of Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian, Midlothian, Falkirk and the Borders – and the great news is our online clubs mean you can join us from wherever you might be!

So, if you want to join the same class as your cousin at the other end of the country (or even the other side of the world) you can. It’s a great way of being together when you can’t be in the same place. Why not get a group of your friends together to join us?

Weekly Online Computing Club - Friday 3pm Age 8+

Our online clubs are the perfect way to learn the latest technologies and develop invaluable tech skills. Our online sessions are delivered live in small groups by our fab team of expert tech leaders so your child has all the input and interaction they need.

We will be delivering sessions in everything from game design and coding to animation and Minecraft. Something for everyone.

Key Information

  • One session every week delivered by our fab team of expert tech leaders.
  • All courses age appropriate and aligned to the Curriculum for Excellence .
  • No more than 8 in a class
  • Only requirements are a PC with a good internet connection.
  • No previous experience as we will develop their skills through the stages
  • Sessions led by experienced instructors with a passion for technology
  • Only £29 each month
  • New topic every 8 weeks

Introduction to Comic Book Design Age 8+

Create your very own comic book!

Join us for another fun-packed club where you will be writing and designing your very own comic book. Using innovative comic book software, digital art and your very own photos to illustrate your own comic. Be creative; be inspired; be a superhero!

Introduction to 3D Animation Studio Age 8+

Create and play your own 3D game or animation !

Welcome to our 3D animation studio, where students use an innovative block-based programming environment to create their own 3D games and animations. Students will learn to program character interaction, movement, and control kets within their own games and animations. Nemo, Dory, and flying dragons will keep students engaged and having fun as they learn

Requirements

Students will need a computer/laptop with a good internet connection and will using a free piece of software called Alice 3.

  • 2.00 to 2.45 each day for five days

Course Goals

  • Understand logical and computational thinking skills
  • Fundamental principles of game-design and coding
  • Exposure to object-orientated programming

  • We are a local organisation, working across Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian, Midlothian, Falkirk and the Borders, who are specialists in computing and technology classes for children from 3-13.
  • We work with a large number of schools in the area providing workshops, in-curriculum time classes, computing clubs etc.
  • We cover all areas of tech from creative animation to robotics, coding and physical computing.
  • We are Disclosure Scotland checked.
